Steve Nanda

Steve is a drummer, pianist, and composer hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Currently based in Berlin, Germany, Steve’s musical journey began at a young age, performing in clubs and bars by the age of 15.

At just 16, Steve earned the prestigious title of “Best Asian Drummer” at the 2003 Yamaha Asianbeat competition, a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication to expanding musical boundaries. This early recognition set the stage for a career marked by innovation and excellence.

Driven by his passion for music, Steve relocated to Berlin, a hub of cultural diversity and artistic expression. He is presently pursuing a master’s degree in jazz composition at the Hochschule for Musik Mainz, further honing his craft by integrating his extensive experience with formal jazz education

Steve’s musical journey reflects his commitment to artistic growth and intercultural exploration. His ability to effortlessly blend traditional influences with contemporary jazz elements has garnered him recognition and respect on both local and international stages.
